Rajneet Kohli, the former CEO and executive director of Britannia Industries Ltd., was named executive director, foods, by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) on Wednesday.
Shiva Krishnamurthy, who will leave his position to pursue an outside opportunity, will be replaced by him.
With effect from April 7, Kohli will become a member of the company’s management committee.
In order to explore a “external opportunity,” Kohli resigned from his active position at Britannia with effect from March 14 and announced his departure from the biscuit manufacturer on March 6.

Mint reported Kohli’s appointment on Wednesday evening.
Behind the company’s beauty and personal care division was separated into beauty and wellness and personal care companies last year, HUL’s meals and refreshment division is now its second-largest division behind home care.
According to the company’s November presentation, the meals and refreshment segment generated ₹15,292 crore in revenue in fiscal 2023–24, accounting for 25% of HUL’s ₹59,579 crore turnover, up from 17% ten years prior.
Rohit Jawa, CEO and managing director
“Under Krishnamurthy’s leadership, HUL became the market leader in tea, delivered iconic communications that won prestigious marketing accolades, and transformed the portfolio to win in faster growing spaces,” stated Rohit Jawa, CEO and managing director of HUL. Foods is a sizable business division of HUL with significant room for expansion. Rajneet has a wealth of expertise leading high-performing teams and overseeing sizable food and beverage companies. I have no doubt that he will guide the Foods company into the upcoming stage of expansion and change.
